Dinitolmide powder is a feed additive that is used in the animal husbandry industry. It is a white to light yellow, crystalline powder that is odorless and tasteless. Its chemical name is 3,5-dinitro-o-toluamide, and it is also known as nitarsone.

4. Function and Application of Dinitolmide Powder

4.1 Used as an anticoccidial agent in the animal husbandry industry. It is added to poultry feed to prevent and control coccidiosis, a parasitic disease caused by the protozoan Eimeria, which can lead to significant economic losses and decreased animal performance.

4.2 To inhibit the growth and reproduction of the Eimeria parasite in birds. Dinitolmide is effective against multiple species of Eimeria, which makes it a useful preventative measure for poultry producers. It is also effective in treating active infections of coccidiosis in birds.

4.3 Used in broiler and layer feeding programs, as well as in turkey, duck, and game bird production. It is added to poultry feed at a rate of 33–55 g per ton of feed, depending on the severity of the coccidiosis challenge.
